This is a video of UFC / MMA fighter, vegan badass and overall great guy Mac Danzig and I presenting a video tribute to vegan/vegetarian & animal activist athletes at the PETA 30th Anniversary Humanitarian Awards Gala hosted by Alec Baldwin a couple weeks ago.
It was a very cool night. And surreal. Julie and I had the honor of sharing a dinner table with Levi Leipheimer and his lovely wife Odessa, which was obviously pretty awesome. Levi is such a kind man. And Odessa is full of vim and vigor!
We also met a bunch of other cool Hollywood types – horror film director Eli Roth (the “Bear Jew” from Tarantino’s “Inglorious Basterds”) and rockstar Dave Navarro. What a trip. I cannot tell you how bizarre it was backstage before getting ready to present, rubbing elbows with people like legendary comedian Fred Willard, musician Bryan Adams and amazing actors Joaquin Phoenix, Alec Baldwin and Casey Affleck.
I kept thinking – what am I DOING HERE?! Looking around the room it was like the Oscars or the Emmys – Eva Mendes, Iggy Pop, Anjelica Huston, Dominick Monaghan, Steve-O….crazy.
Anyway, it was a very fun and inspiring night celebrating one of the ballsiest organizations in the world.
