Official Rules

Eligibility: The Giveaway (the “Giveaway”) is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry. Void outside the USA, in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and other United States territories and possessions. Employees, officers, and representatives of Rich Roll Enterprises, LLC (“Sponsor”), promotional agencies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each such employee, officer, and representatives, whether or not related, are not eligible. The Giveaway is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Participation in the Giveaway constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules. Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Giveaway. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

Entry Period: The Giveaway begins on January 23rd, 2026 at 3:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (“PST”) and ends on or around January 29th, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PST (the “Promotion Period”). Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Giveaway.

How to Enter: There is one (1) way to enter:

During the Promotion Period, participants shall receive a free entry by subscribing to the Rich Roll Substack, and completing the entry form provided here: https://richroll.com/momentous-giveaway/ (herein known as the “Official Entry”). To subscribe, visit richroll.substack.com or click the subscription link on the book giveaway page at richroll.com/book-giveaway.

If you do not already have a Substack account, you will need to create one by providing your email address and accepting Substack’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (available at substack.com/tos and substack.com/privacy). Creating a Substack account and subscribing to the newsletter is free and does not require any payment or purchase.

You will be asked to provide basic contact information to confirm eligibility as a potential winner, including your name, street address, phone number, email address & birthdate (NOTE: You must complete all required fields to be eligible). By entering this Giveaway, you expressly consent to receive email communications from Sponsor, including but not limited to marketing emails, newsletters, and promotional offers. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email or by managing your subscription settings on Substack. Additionally, entrants must check a required acknowledgment box on the entry form acknowledging that they have read and agree to the Official Rules and corresponding Privacy Policy. Limit: One (1) Official Entry per person. Use of multiple email addresses or identities by the same person to enter is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Entries generated by script, macro, bot, or other automated means are void. All Official Entries must be completed by January 29th, 2026. 

Prize: Four (4) individual winners will receive:

  • One (1) signed copy of Maya Shankar’s book The Other Side of Change: Who We Become When Life Makes Other Plans (approximate retail value: $30.00 USD).
  • Free shipping to each winner’s final U.S. mailing address within the United States only.

Total approximate retail value of all prizes: $30.00 USD. No substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent of prize is permitted except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable.

Winners agree to accept the prizes “as is.” Sponsor is not responsible for any warranty, representation, or guarantee related to the prizes.

Drawing: Winners will be randomly selected from among all eligible entries collected during the Promotion Period. The drawing will take place on or around January 30th, 2026, at Sponsor’s principal place of business. The drawing will be conducted by Sponsor, whose decisions are final and binding in all respects. If a winner is ineligible or does not comply with Giveaway rules, an alternate winner will be selected through a separate random drawing. Prize fulfillment will be handled via U.S. mail within 14 days of winner confirmation. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all potential winners and to disqualify any entrant who violates these Official Rules, tampers with the entry process, or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. All entries are subject to verification before a winner is declared.

Odds: The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received, according to the eligibility requirements in the Giveaway.

General Terms:
By entering, you agree to:

  • Abide by these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding.
  • Release Sponsor and its affiliates from any claims or damages resulting from participation in the Giveaway.
  • Allow Sponsor to use your name, photograph, voice, and/or likeness for promotional purposes without additional compensation, where permitted by law. Winners may be required to sign a separate publicity release as a condition of prize acceptance.

Any attempt to tamper with, damage, or undermine the Giveaway may result in legal action. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Giveaway if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor impairs its integrity.

Limitations of Liability:
The Released Parties (Sponsor, its affiliates, and employees) are not responsible for:

  1. Incorrect or inaccurate entry information.
  2. Technical failures, including website or email malfunctions.
  3. Unauthorized human intervention.
  4. Late, lost, undeliverable, or stolen mail.
  5. Any injury or damage caused by participation in the Giveaway or use of the prize.

If an entry is lost or deleted due to an error, the entrant’s sole remedy is a replacement entry, if feasible.

Taxes: Winners are solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes associated with their prize. If a winner receives $600 or more in prizes, Sponsor will issue an IRS Form 1099 for tax reporting.

Disputes & Governing Law:
By entering, you agree that: (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Giveaway shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (b) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred (if any), excluding attorneys’ fees and court costs. Punitive, incidental, and consequential damages are hereby waived.

  1. Any disputes shall be resolved individually in the United States District Court for the Central District of California (Western Division) or the California State Court in Los Angeles County.

The Giveaway is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
